The Masks We Wear

Everybody wears a mask
Even atleast once in their life.

We smile to hide our troubles
We laugh to mask our broken hearts
We act holier than thou to keep people from being interested in our lives
We know the evil we are capable of.

Its a daily routine
Wake up and wear your mask
Because fear grips our hearts
Desperation rules us.

Will he love me if he knew my past?
Will they accept me if i am not like them?
Will. . .?
And so we give excuses for our hypocrisy
When life takes a toll
Your mask falls
All mankind see’s you for you
Now you are exposed
The spotlight is on
Your mask is off.
